Rama Kills Ravana

After the great battle at Lanka, Lord Rama killed the ten-headed demon king Ravana on this day, rescuing Sita and establishing the victory of dharma over adharma.

Arjuna Retrieves Weapons

Arjuna recovered his weapons hidden in the Shami tree on Vijayadashami after the Pandavas' incognito year. This makes the day auspicious for Shastra Puja.
