Procedure
Preparation
- Selection of auspicious day (Vasant Panchami or Vijayadashami preferred)

ॐ सरस्वति नमस्तुभ्यं वरदे कामरूपिणि । विद्यारम्भं करिष्यामि सिद्धिर्भवतु मे सदा ॥
Om sarasvati namastubhyaṃ varade kāmarūpiṇi | Vidyārambhaṃ kariṣyāmi siddhirbhavatu me sadā ||
O Saraswati, I bow to you, giver of boons, fulfiller of desires. I am beginning my education; may I always attain success.
ॐ या कुन्देन्दुतुषारहारधवला या शुभ्रवस्त्रावृता । या वीणावरदण्डमण्डितकरा या श्वेतपद्मासना ॥ या ब्रह्माच्युतशङ्करप्रभृतिभिर्देवैः सदा वन्दिता । सा मां पातु सरस्वती भगवती निःशेषजाड्यापहा ॥
Om yā kundendutuṣārahāradhavalā yā śubhravastrāvṛtā | Yā vīṇāvaradaṇḍamaṇḍitakarā yā śvetapadmāsanā || Yā brahmācyutaśaṅkaraprabhṛtibhirdevaiḥ sadā vanditā | Sā māṃ pātu sarasvatī bhagavatī niḥśeṣajāḍyāpahā ||
She who is white as jasmine, moon, and snow, clad in white garments, whose hands are adorned with the veena and blessing, who is seated on a white lotus, who is always worshipped by Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, and other gods - may that Goddess Saraswati, remover of all ignorance, protect me.
ॐ ज्ञानानन्दमयं देवं निर्मलस्फटिकाकृतिम् । आधारं सर्वविद्यानां हयग्रीवमुपास्महे ॥
Om jñānānandamayaṃ devaṃ nirmalasphaṭikākṛtim | Ādhāraṃ sarvavidyānāṃ hayagrīvamupāsmahe ||
We meditate upon Hayagriva, the god filled with knowledge and bliss, pure as crystal, the foundation of all learning.
ॐ ओंकारं बिन्दुसंयुक्तं नित्यं ध्यायन्ति योगिनः । कामदं मोक्षदं चैव ओंकाराय नमो नमः ॥
Om oṃkāraṃ bindusaṃyuktaṃ nityaṃ dhyāyanti yoginaḥ | Kāmadaṃ mokṣadaṃ caiva oṃkārāya namo namaḥ ||
The Yogis always meditate on Om with the bindu (dot). It grants desires and liberation. Salutations to Om.
