Om āpo hi ṣṭhā mayobhuvastā na ūrje dadhātana | Maheraṇāya cakṣase || Yo vaḥ śivatamo rasastasya bhājayateha naḥ | Uśatīriva mātaraḥ ||
O waters, you are the source of happiness, grant us nourishment, for great vision. Share with us your most auspicious essence, like loving mothers.

Speak the truth. Practice Dharma. Do not neglect self-study. Having brought beloved wealth to the teacher, do not cut the line of progeny.

| Urban Practice | May be performed at home or temple; often linked to formal education completion (degree) rather than Vedic study |
| University Convocation | Modern convocations inherit the tradition of formal acknowledgment of study completion |
