Sita Swayamvar

King Janaka announced that whoever could lift and string the divine bow Pinaka (Shiva Dhanush) would win Sita's hand. Many kings tried and failed. Young Rama not only lifted the bow but broke it while stringing, winning Sita. Their wedding was celebrated with great grandeur.
