Mythology & Stories

Self-manifested as space (Akasha) that allows all creation; the primordial womb of universe

Bhuvaneshwari embodies space, the most subtle element, and Maya - the creative power that manifests the universe. She represents the Goddess as the Queen of all existence, the cosmic mother in whose body all worlds exist.

Creator of Space for Creation

Before creation, Bhuvaneshwari manifested space itself - the void in which all creation could take place. Without her, there would be no arena for the cosmic drama. She is the mother who provides the womb for universal manifestation.

Giving Space to Brahma

When Brahma was given the task of creation, he found he had nowhere to create. Bhuvaneshwari appeared and said 'I am space' - providing the dimension in which all his creation could exist.

Relation to Sati

Bhuvaneshwari represents the cosmic aspect of Sati/Parvati - not the personal goddess but the universal principle that underlies all existence.
